For my friendship group in grades 3-5 I try to work on specific social skills my kiddos are missing. I also try to make my group fun and conversational because many times the children I bring together would be good friendship matches so I want to encourage them to get to know and feel comfortable with one an other. I use the book 101 Ways To Teach Children Social Skills and my lessons change to meet group member's needs. I also do a pre and post test to see if the children participating in the group notice a difference in how they interact with their peers. It also points to strengths and weaknesses they have.
