Meet your elementary counselor!
My name is Laura Shank and I am your child’s school counselor. As the school counselor I will work to support all students socially and emotionally, academically, and with future career exploration. To do this I am available to do school-wide activities (K-5) classroom guidance (K-5) small group instruction (K-5) and short-term individual counseling (K-5).
Every student who sees me does receive the privilege of confidentiality. When a student comes to speak with the counselor what the child says is kept as private as possible. However, I will encourage students to share with parents what we have talked about. If there is a major concern I will contact the parent.
Please feel free to contact me at any time during the year if you have a concern or question. Please take a look at the back of this newsletter for small groups that will be offered throughout the year.

The information shared on this website is designed and intended to provide information to teachers, parents and other stakeholders about the curriculum of the Woodward Elementary Counseling Program. The lessons and materials provided I have found through multiple sources. It is not my intention to steal anyone's work, rather to share it. Many of the lessons provided include common core standards that were added by my former intern Lakeisha Hess.
